Calling all furry friends and owners to the 9th annual PawFest, this Saturday, June 10th, at Veterans Park! From 9am to 2pm, the park will be bustling with free events and activities for the whole family.
This year, PawFest presented by Mt. Vernon Festivals, Inc. is combining with Market Days of Mt. Vernon sponsored by Continental Tire, Byrd Watson Medical Downtown and more! Over 60 vendors will be set up all around the outdoor walking path and inside the Rolland Lewis Building. Shop for dog treats, dog and cat toys, leashes, collars, food bowls, pet tags, pet portraits, and dog bandanas for your pet. Find crafts, rummage items, art, flowers, clothing, decor, jewelry, soaps and more for you! Food vendors will also be available selling kettle corn, shake-ups, corn dogs, cotton candy, and other yummy treats.
Browse the vendors and stay to listen to unique presentations from The National Borozi Rescue Foundation, an Agility Demonstration, and an explanation of Service, Therapy, and Support Dogs. Fan favorites returning this year include the Meet the Adoptables: Runway Show and Pet Contests and Award Presentations.
Pet owners can still register for the following contests: oldest pet, youngest pet, best costume, tallest pet, smallest pet, prettiest eyes, best high five, longest ears, shortest ears, biggest paws, smallest paws, best pet trick, cutest ears, and longest tail. Entry cost is $1 or one supply drive item per contest. Supply drive donations support the Jefferson County Animal Control. See the list of items below that are in need. (Attach supply drive flier here)
Leave PawFest with a new family member, as there will be adoptable cats and dogs ready for a new home. Pets can enjoy outdoor games and photo props for the purrfect picture opportunity! Please bring your pet on a leash and pick up after your pet to ensure a safe environment for all.
