Cusumano & Sons Local Produce Pick Up
August 25th, 8 am – 4 pm. 826 Harrison St., Mt. Vernon, IL
Local produce boxes will be available to order for $30 per box. Order online at www.cusumanoandsonsfundraising.com or call 618-244-0198. The variety of produce changes per week, but examples include squash, potatoes, carrots, apples, grapes, mangoes, and onions.
Family Movie Night
August 25th, 7 p.m.
C.E. Bream Memorial Library
Bring the whole family for a fun, movie night. Due to licensing agreements, advertisement of the movie title is not allowed. Call 618-242-6322 to find out what will be playing!
Yoga at the Farm
August 26th, 9-10 a.m.
Bernard Family Farm, Bonnie, IL
Enjoy outdoor yoga at the farm while the animals wander about! There is a registration fee of $20/person and includes a cup of feed for the animals. Ages 8 and above may participate. Registration is required and class size is limited. Tickets can be purchased at www.bernardfamilyfarm.com
Barbara Kay Presentation of “Molly Brown”
August 26th, 2 p.m.
Jefferson County Historical Village
Molly Brown was a social reformer and champion of women’s, children’s, and workers’ rights. She is known for her survival of the Titanic. Barbara Kay will portray Molly and share her story.
United Way Food Truck Fest
August 26th, 3 – 7 p.m.
Downtown 9th Street, Mt. Vernon, IL
Head over downtown to sample some of the best food trucks in South Central Illinois! Expect to see shake-ups, tacos, sno cones, kettle corn, pulled pork nachos, Korean food, and more. Bigger and better, the 3rd Annual Food Truck Fest will also feature a cruise in car show this year. Pre-registration for the car show is not required.
Blues & Brews w/ Joe Asselin and Toronto Cannon
August 26th, 6- 11 p.m.
Cedarhurst Center for the Arts
Come for an evening of exceptional music and tasty brews on the museum back patio. Winston’s Bagels will provide food concessions. A cash bar featuring seasonal brews will also be available. Gates open at 6pm, with the opening band, Joe Asselin’s Backporch Rootbeer, playing at 7 pm. At 8:30 pm., headliner Toronto Cannon will take the stage. Admission is $20 for non members and tickets may be purchased at the gate. Please bring lawn chairs but leave all coolers at home.
Elevate Wellness Center Grand Opening
Aug. 27th 11a.m.- 2 p.m.
1708 Jefferson Ave., Mt. Vernon, IL
Come celebrate the grand opening of Elevate Wellness Center, the new home of Stress Knot Massage and Chiropractic Wellness Center. This facility will also house two new businesses, Float Life and Frost Aesthetics. Teddy LaMaster will be entertaining with live music. Food trucks, vendors, and face painting will also be available. Take a private tour of the facility from 11 am- 12 pm and see first hand the amenities and services these businesses have to offer.
